Think of a podcast as an audio magazine that can be bought in a store or subscribed to through the mail. Like real magazines there are hundreds to choose from. Unlike real magazines, podcasts are free! You can find lots of pocasts online.
You can listen to an individual podcast show by playing the show using the web player provided or by downloading the mp3 file to play at a later time.
"Subscribing" to a podcast is easy too. Just download an aggregator that supports RSS 2.0 with enclosures: iPodderX for the MacOSX, iPodder, and many others! (My preferences are iPodderX for the Mac and iPodder for Windows users).

Either way, since the file is an mp3, you can listen to the podcast using your favorite mp3 player whenever you like!
Why subscribe? Well, you do a little more work at the start, but after that you only have to click one button in your aggregator to have it pull the newest Kanaz@wee! Podcasts available. (Actually your software will grab all the shows from any of the feeds you've selected at the same time.) You can even set up the program to automatically check for new podcasts whenever you like. I have iPodderX automatically download podcasts into my iPod!
How are podcasts different from audioblogs and other forms of online broadcasts? The best way is to try out a few podcasts and see for yourself. IMHO the short answer is that podcasts are analogous to magazines while audioblogs are more like diaries or journals. This was my first podcast recorded using audioblog.com's Flash-powered online app. Of course you can't edit the audio file so the show has an improvisational feel to it. We recorded the show here in Hyun-joo's bedroom after a kick-butt Korean dinner. This will be a great option to be able to do shows on the road!
